What is Solution Focused Hypnotherapy?

Solution Focused Hypnotherapy is a modern, research-based combination of psychotherapy and hypnosis, aimed at encouraging clients to focus on how they want things to be. We help clients to set their own realistic goals, encouraging them to break things down into smaller chunks or mini-goals, so progress can be measured and it’s easier to see the movement forward.

Through this approach, the emphasis is on the present and the future, not on the past. We work with what the client wants to achieve.  Using specific Solution Focused techniques and questions to elicit positive responses, solutions emerge that help the client move towards their ‘preferred future.'  In Solution Focused work, there is a shift from focusing on the problem to looking for solutions, resources and skills that a client naturally has and can use to effect change in their lives.

With the skillful help and support of the hypnotherapist, beneficial changes are often achieved relatively quickly, and for the truly motivated and committed, Solution Focused Hypnotherapy may be an effective way to help you achieve your goals.

What to expect during hypnosis

Hypnosis is a natural state of mind which can be induced by concentration on a single idea or focus. It is not sleep, it is a trance-like state that, you may be surprised to learn, we experience on numerous occasions every day. Perhaps you have been so engrossed in a book, the TV or a film that you haven’t noticed when someone has called your name. If so, you were in a trance-like state at the time!

You will be guided into hypnosis by my soothing voice and you will feel extremely relaxed and calm and aware of everything around you. It is a very pleasant and enjoyable state which is similar to daydreaming. You cannot get stuck in hypnosis and can leave the state whenever you wish, you are in complete control at all times!
